 “You should seek sincere brothers, for they are an adornment at times of ease and a support at times of calamity.”

 I bet you would have already guessed what this post is about!


Ukhwah = Friendship


It is indeed a lovely feeling right, having another person who would care and do anything for you through the thick and thin times, happy times, going crazy times :p and even the time when you need to reach out to your Rabb. Always there by you :D


The ukhwah that i had was MashaAllah lovely! from the sisters i knew from my usrah and my fellow muslim sisters around me and even some of the brothers. They had helped me a lot along the process of being a better Muslim alhamdulillah :D and being steadfast in this deen! they were always there for me, guiding me without judging what kind of person i am and even my past (well they knew me even before being a Muslim) 


Love them all so much and dearly because of Allah SWT :)


Walking in into my second year of being a Muslim, Alhamdulillah i really understood what ukhwah is :) and choosing a friend..i must say, im preety bad in choosing a friend because i am a friendly person and everything goes with me :) 


Recently i came across a quote and it came with an incident in my life too! the quote goes like this: 

"The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows.. So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him.”

Even my father told me once that our companion, be it friends or spouse reflect who we are! but does this mean you should not befriend anyone? Well in my opinion, friends are those who lead you into doing good stuffs, the right thing to do and not to lure you into things that you should not do are those you keep close! 


So, in this case, we befriend everyone, but those who really brings us towards Allah SWT are those who we keep close. Also in this case, we should not look down upon those without a strong deen but help them too towards Allah SWT and make du'a for them. What if you are not strong enough to guide them?


i myself tried to help certain of my friends into the right path, bringing them back to the deen but unfortunately, i am not strong enough and i've decided to stay away and make du'a for them..alot and alot of du'a for them :D inshaAllah their hearts will open up :)

Sahana: Sister, i'm actually in a dillema! why do Islam has so many haram and halal in everything they do in their live? why is it so complicated? and dont they get confuse?

Me: The reason there is haram and halal is like having to differentiate between good things or bad things.For instance,  Islam prohibits alcohol is because scientifically, its not healthy and in the long run there are so many effects. You may say that  alcohol consumed in a less amount wont make any difference but Islam prohibits from the root itself.

Sahana: it is true sister! eliminating from the root itself! but then sister, why my Muslim friend who doesnt want to drink from my water bottle even though i'm vegetarian and she still says its haram,  would rather have her boyfriend back home with her? Isn't that haram too?

Me: ......(speechless) 

So sisters and brothers, any answer for my friends question? its a shame when your Muslim fellows talk about haram and halal but in return, they don't follow it. 


A humble request to my sisters and brothers out there, please please please don't just follow without knowing the reason for doing something. Do make an effort to learn Islam and what it truly is because mashaAllah it's a wonderful religion! you can have so much of facts learning what Islam is. We do have our own flaw, but don't continue doing it. Repent!


Do not commit zina. if man knew what was his limit, he would be the perfect servant of Allah SWT. Shaaitan doesn't only be around us but its within our own nafs. Today we see many people throwing of their babies which results from before marriage sexual conduct. it looks like we went back to the jahilliyah times except this time, we don't kill the baby girls but the baby boys too! love is wonderful but wait for the right one. when you've already have the right one, make du'a so that Allah SWT will bless the relationship with a marriage but at the same time, don't loose yourself. Things can wait. If he/she is meant to be with you, he/she will wait. always put Allah SWT first and ask for His guidance. There is no tawakal if you don't to change things.

Having been blessed with so many things within a day or a week is a miracle and Alhamdulillah for that! 30th of September was one of my most favorite day i would say because of being able to really live as a Muslim within a day not worrying about those around you but your family .

Alhamdullilah i was given that opportunity by Allah SWT to live a day in a Muslim environment. You might be already thinking what am i rambling about but i was here in IIUM (International Islamic University Malaysia) for two days and MashaAllah! Great day and experience. Being able to sit with sisters, talking about Islam,being a Muslim well, i dont get this opportunity everyday.

You know the saying that goes your friends are who you are, being with the sisters here really lifted my imaan for that particular day! a million thanks to Allah SWT and sister Samira, Abeer and Anis for their lovely hospitality and love. i couldn't ask for more! in fact i wanted to stay over as long as i could. 

i have believed this one thing all my life living as a Muslim, da'wah is done through the actions of a Muslim itself than going on preaching about what Islam is and what's haram and halal. i see this in many of my closest friends and Alhamdulillah with this girls. We had a great time talking and sharing, praying jemaah together, eating and sleeping and Alhamdulillah such a blessing :) i really hope to be given the opportunity again inshaAllah.

I was reading this article from The Ideal Muslimah page in facebook and i thought this advice might be a great use for all of us. A person was asking about how to lift up his/her iman when he/she thought that they have followed everything right but still are not satisfied with the level of their iman. This is for us who wants to do extra :)….


1 – We advise you to read Qur’aan a great deal, listen to its recitation and ponder the meanings of what you read and listen to, as much as you can. If you find anything difficult to understand then ask the scholars in your country or write to other Sunni scholars for advice.

We also advise you to remember Allaah a great deal (dhikr) with the dhikrs narrated in the saheeh ahaadeeth, such as “Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah (there is no god except Allaah)”, “Subhaan-Allaah wa’l-hamdu Lillaah wa laa ilaaha ill-Allaah wa Allaahu akbar (Glory be to Allaah, praise be to Allaah, there is no god except Allaah and Allaah is Most Great)”, and so on. For more information on this see al-Kalim al-Tayyib by Ibn Taymiyah; al-Waabil al-Sayyib by Ibn al-Qayyim; Riyaadh al-Saaliheen [available in English]; al-Adhkaar al-Nawawiyyah by Imaam al-Nawawi, and so on.

Remembering Allaah (dhikr) increases faith and brings peace of mind. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“verily, in the remembrance of Allaah do hearts find rest” [al-Ra’d 13:28]

Regularly perform acts of worship such as prayer, fasting and the other pillars of Islam, whilst hoping for the mercy of Allaah and putting your trust in Him in all your affairs. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur’aan) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);

Who perform As-Salaah (Iqaamat‑as‑ Salaah) and spend out of that We have provided them.

It is they who are the believers in truth. For them are grades of dignity with their Lord, and forgiveness and a generous provision (Paradise).” [al-Anfaal 8:2]


2 – Faith is also increased by obeying Allaah, and it decreases when one disobeys Him. So adhere to doing that which Allaah has enjoined such as performing the prayers on time in congregation in the mosque, praying zakaah willingly to purify yourself of sin and show compassion towards the poor and needy, sitting with good and righteous people so that they will help you to apply sharee’ah and guide you to that which will bring you happiness in this world and in the Hereafter.

Avoid the followers of bid’ah and sinners, lest they tempt you and weaken your resolve to do good.

Do a lot of voluntary good actions, turn to Allaah, and ask Him for strength.

If you do that, Allaah will increase you in faith and you will make up for lost time, and Allaah will increase you in goodness and steadfastness in adhering to Islam.

I was reading through this article in Facebook yesterday and i just thought to share it with you guys~

When Mu’min enters into Jannah, it will be announced:-

You will remain healthy forever, disease will never come.
…You will remain alive for ever, death will never come.
You will remain in bounties which will never be finished.
Jannat is made with bricks of gold and silver, Its cement is of perfumed musk. Its chips are pearls and Yaqoot.Its sand is Zafraan.

There are eight doors of Jannah. these are eight grades of Jannat :

i) Jannatul Mava
ii) Darul Maqaam
iii) Darul Salaam
iv) Darul Khuld
v) Jannat-ul-Adan
vi) Jannat-ul-Naeem
vii) Jannat-ul-Kasif
viii) Jannat-ul-Firdous


Food of Jannah

They will eat foods and fruits continuously up to 40 years. Every bowl will have a new taste. They will take eructation which will digest the food and there will be perfumed sweating for the digestion of water. There will be no urine and stool.


Garden of Jannat

There will be gardens in Jannah. Every garden will have the length of about 100 years journey. The shadow of these gardens will be very dense.

Their plants will be free of thorns. The size of their leaves will be equal to ears of elephants. Their fruits will be hanging in rows.

Jannatul Mava is in the lowest, Jannat-ul-Adan is the middle and Jannat-ul- Firdous is on the highest. Those who-love each other for the sake of Allah, will get a pillar of Yaqoot, on which there will be seventy thousand (70,000) rooms. These will shine for the residents of Jannah as the sun shines for the residents of Duniya.

There will be rooms in Jannah in such a way that every room will have seventy thousands (70,000) dinning sheets. On every dinning sheet 70,000 types of foods will be served.

For their service 80,000 young boys will be moving around looking like beautiful scattered pearls.
One bunch of dates will be equal to the length of 12 arms. The size of a date will be equal to the big pitcher. These will be whiter than milk, sweater than honey and softer than butter and free from seeds. The stem of these plants will be made up of gold and silver.

There will also be gardens of grapes. The bunches of grapes will be very big. The size of a single grape will be equal to a big pitcher (pot). Someone asked, Ya Rasulullah Sallalahu alaihi wasallam: will it be sufficient for me and my family. It was answered, it will be sufficient for you and your whole tribe.


The Dresses of Jannat

The dress of Jannah will be very beautiful. One will wear 70 dresses at a time.

These will be very fine, delicate, weightless, having different colors.

These dresses will be so fine that the body even the heart will be visible. And the waves of love in the hearts will also be visible. These dresses will never become old, never be dirty and will never tear.

There will be four canals in every Jannah. They are of water, milk, honey and Sharabun Tahoora. There will also be three fountains in Jannah. (i) Kafoor. (ii) Zanjabeel. (iii) Tasneem


Qualities of People of Jannah

In Jannah, height of every Mo’min, will be equal to the height of Hazrat Adam Alaihissalaam = 60 arms (90 feet).

Beauty will be like that of Hazrat Yousuf Alaihissalaam

Age of youth will be like that of Hazrat Esa Alaihissalaam (30-33 years).

Sweetness of voice will be like that of Hazrat Dawud Alaihissalaam.

Tolerance will be like that of Hazrat Yaqoob Alaihissalaam

Patience will be like that of Hazrat Ayyub Alaihissalaam.

Habits will be like that of Sayyadina Muhammad Sallalahu alaihi wasallam.

If a person makes Du’a for Jannah three times, Jannah requests Allah

that O, Allah; make his entry into Jannah. And if a person makes Du’a

for safety from Jahannum three times, the Jahannnum requests Allah that, O, Allah; save him from Jahannum.

Lovely right? let us all set our goal there and achieve it.

I wonder why are we lacking in this :(

Why do we have to do segregation among human when Allah wants us to unite.

Our Prophet S.A.W is the perfect example of human kind when it comes to peace and spreading love without even looking at another human’s background.

I hear Muslim’s say and talk about da’wah but what they do is to speak out loud the greatness of Islam and not by their act. Islam doesn’t ask us to segregate our other brothers and sisters in fact by showing them love and treating them kindly, they will start to realize how wonderful Islam is. That is how i discovered Islam, learned about it and started to love it. All by the act of my wonderful friends around me.

So brothers and sisters, let us learn how to be patient and spread love as how our Prophet S.A.W has teach us. InshaAllah by Allah’s grace we will be strong.

I came across this post in a tumblr page that i follow (http://nubami.tumblr.com/post/1642744536) and it caught my attention. MashaAllah, its written so beautifully and then I started to realize how much Allah S.W.T loves us. Here it goes…

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring.

Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:

1. God uses problems to DIRECT you.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? “Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways.”

2. God uses problems to INSPECT you.
People are like tea bags…if you want to know what’s inside them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about
you? “When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.”

3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It’s likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove…. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something… health, money, a relationship. .. by losing it. “It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws.”

4. God uses problems to PROTECT you.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management’s actions were eventually discovered. “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…

5. God uses problems to PERFECT you.
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders. God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you’re going to take with you into eternity. “We can rejoice when we run into problems…they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of characer in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady.”

MashaAllah, it’s so beautiful rite. Knowing how much Allah S.W.T loves us and wants us to be better is so lovely. After reading it, i knew that my intention on doing everything in my life is for Allah S.W.T :D

People often ask me, why does Islam opress women? why cant they be free?why must they wear hijab?hijab on a women is ridiculous!

Surprisingly, when i first learn the reason of women in Islam are supposed to wear the hijab and niqab, i respected them more. I wanted to guard my modesty too and all that i could do is just bun up my hair and try wearing long sleeves and loose garment. Well, it's not about being ugly, but to be modest of the beauty i have. what i cherish for Allah and my future husband. I bet some of you would wanna know in detail about guarding the modesty, i have an article taken from iluvislam.com that explains and describes the need for a women to guard her modesty. Here it goes,


HOW MUSLIMS DRESS?

Allah makes a natural covering for all His creatures but not for His best creation: the human being. Instead, Allah tells us why and how we should clothe ourselves. Then Allah leaves us to choose whether to obey.

True Muslims always choose to obey Allah's commands.



The Noble Qur'an says:
“O children of Adam! We have sent clothing to you to cover the shameful parts of your body and to serve as a protection and decoration; but the best clothing is the clothing of piety” [7:26]



WHY COVER?

In Islam, dress has 4 functions.

1. COVERING

Dress conceals the private parts of the body that are called 'aurah in Islam. Muslims do not expose what Allah commands to be kept private. Allah forbids nudity.

2. PROTECTION



"And (Allah) has made garments to protect you from the heat (and cold)... " [16:81]


Dress protects the body from the weather; or heat, cold, wind and rain.

People living in desert region cover their heads and faces to prevent sand carrying living microorganisms entering their ears, noses, eyes and mouths.

3. ADORNMENT

Dress is worn to adorn and beautify the human personality, bestowing on it dignity.



Allah is Beautiful and He loves beauty.[Sahih Muslim]


4. MORAL FUNCTION

Islamic dress helps safeguard the modesty and decency of a person and the moral ideal of society, where sex is permitted only in marriage.

There is a deep impact which outer modesty makes on inner spiritual well-being. Also, inner spirituality is reflected on one's appearance.

In Islam, both men and women should be custodians of the morality and society.

What Allah says in the Noble Qur'an :

-Modesty of Men



"Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah is well acquainted with all that they do."[24:30]



-Modesty of women and their dress in public



"And say to the believing women that they should lower their gaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty and ornaments (in public) beyond what may decently be apparent. Hence, let them draw their head-coverings over their bosoms. And let them not display (more of) their charms to any but their husbands, or their father,..."[24:31]



-Protection for women



"O Prophet! Tell your wives, daughters and the believing woman that they should draw their outer garments (hijab), over their persons (when in public). That is more proper that they should be recognized (as decent women) and not molested." [33:59]

to all my young brothers and sisters out there, i know its hard but remember this is only Allah’s test…remember about Him, think of Him all the time..inshaAllah u will pass it through

Growing up, you read me the Ugly Duckling. And for years I believed that was me. For so long you taught me I was nothing more than a bad copy of the standard (men).


I couldn’t run as fast or lift as much. I didn’t make the same money and I cried too often. I grew up in a man’s world where I didn’t belong.



And when I couldn’t be him, I wanted only to please him. I put on your make-up and wore your short skirts. I gave my life, my body, my dignity, for the cause of being pretty. I knew that no matter what I did, I was worthy only to the degree that I could please and be beautiful for my master. And so I spent my life on the cover of Cosmo and gave my body for you to sell.
I was a slave, but you taught me I was free. I was your object, but you swore it was success. You taught me that my purpose in life was to be on display, to attract, and be beautiful for men. You had me believe that my body was created to market your cars. And you raised me to think I was an ugly duckling. But you lied.




Islam tells me, I’m a swan. I’m different – it’s meant to be that way. And my body, my soul, was created for something more. God says in the Qur’an,




“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.” (49:13)



So I am honored. But it is not by my relationship to men. My value as a woman is not measured by the size of my waist or the number of men who like me. My worth as a human being is measured on a higher scale: a scale of righteousness and piety. And my purpose in life – despite what the fashion magazines say – is something more sublime than just looking good for men.





And so God tells me to cover myself, to hide my beauty and to tell the world that I’m not here to please men with my body; I’m here to please God. God elevates the dignity of a woman’s body by commanding that it be respected and covered, shown only to the deserving – only to the man I marry.



So to those who wish to ‘liberate’ me, I have only one thing to say: “Thanks, but no thanks.”
I’m not here to be on display. And my body is not for public consumption. I will not be reduced to an object, or a pair of legs to sell shoes. I’m a soul, a mind, a servant of God. My worth is defined by the beauty of my soul, my heart, my moral character. So, I won’t worship your beauty standards, and I don’t submit to your fashion sense. My submission is to something higher.
With my veil I put my faith on display – rather than my beauty. My value as a human is defined by my relationship with God, not by my looks. I cover the irrelevant. And when you look at me, you don’t see a body. You view me only for what I am: a servant of my Creator.



You see, as a Muslim woman, I’ve been liberated from a silent kind of bondage. I don’t answer

to the slaves of God on earth. I answer to their King.




So sisters, do take this opportunity to change for the sake of Allah SWT. For the sake of the love He has given you and blessings He has given to you. If you were born Muslim, you are the most luckiest person to have things made easy for you. i have every urge to wear the hijab but because of my reversion is a secret, Allah SWT is the only one who can help me. You were lucky to be born in a Muslim family sisters, don’t put it to waste
