Companionship: A Ticket to Jannah

12:50

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

So how has Ramadhan been so far my dear family? hopefully good yeah! :D

Well, this Ramadhan for me its all about Allah and family. Yes, my parents are aware that i'm fasting but Alhamdulillah no complain so far! Thank you Allah for not letting them complain :D in fact i break my fast together with them and its cute looking at my dad enjoying the dates as much as i do! but my mom is still adamant to the fact that i'm following the Muslim lifestyle. Despite that Alhamdulillah things are going on pretty good just that i never had much time to perform tarawih prayers and its an on off thing due to unavoidable circumstances :(

Apart from that, im kinda missing iftaar and suhoor back in my university days. it is indeed a different feeling being with my Muslim friends and enjoying Ramadhan as much as i could :) Missing all my friends already! now they are probably doing it with their family or their husband :)

Thinking about friends and companionship in my life, i'm actually blessed in a way that Allah has always brought me closer to better people! when im close to someone that takes me away from Him, He pulls me back to seeratul mustaqeem and Alhamdulillah i can never come so far without Him. it is true you know that the purpose we are here on earth is to prepare ourselves for the hereafter and everything that comes to us in this world is a bridge and preparation moving into the hereafter. This applies to relationship too! be our family, friends or even spouse...they define who we really are!

Yesterday i was having my iftaar and taraweh in International Islamic University Malaysia's mosque with my dear beloved sisters Anis, Alyaa and Sharmi! ouh and not to forget teacher Fatin and her cutie little son was there too! MashaAllah it was so beautiful being with them and of course we met sister Hind after the taraweh! MashaAllah that girl is a super woman! :D But the best thing among all is when its time for Isha' and Alyaa hold me and Sharmi and went "come lets stand together so that we'll get into Jannah together"...huuuu i was speechless and the only think i could say that time was Alhamdulillah...thank you for this wonderful gift Rabb! and made du'a for everyone! :D MashaAllah!

See, these are the kind of companions im talking about! those who love you for Allah's sake and you want to be better! such an inspirational ladies MashaAllah!

Ouh, and few months back i was in a halaqa in IIUM which was conducted by Sister Tasneem regarding ticket to Jannah. Most of us might be thinking that the ticket to Jannah is just about fasting, zakat and salat but you know what, there's more to that!

When people talk about Jannah, im always reminded by this hadith...my FAV hadith actually! heeee.....

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"When Allah created Paradise and Hell-fire, He sent Gabriel to Paradise, saying: 'Look at it and at what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "So he came to it and looked at it and at what Allah had prepared therein for its inhabitants." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "So he returned to Him and said: 'By your glory, no one hears of it without entering it.' So He ordered that it be encompassed by forms of hardship, and He said: 'Return to it and look at what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants.'" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "So he returned to it and found that it was encompassed by forms of hardship (1). Then he returned to Him and said: 'By Your glory, I fear that no one will enter it.' He said: 'Go to Hell-fire and look at it and what I have prepared therein for its inhabitants;' and he found that it was in layers, one above the other. Then he returned to Him and said: 'By Your glory, no one who hears of it will enter it.' So He ordered that it be encompassed by lusts. Then He said: 'Return to it.' And he returned to it and said: 'By Your glory, I am frightened that no one will escape from entering it.' - Hadith Qudsi, 38
Such a powerful hadith right! just knocks right into your head! uhuhuhuhu.....
Some disbelievers would actually think and question why Allah is so mean and strict and God is suppose to be compasionate and all but what we fail to realize is that Allah has always His own reason! Well, seeing it logically, we human only appreciate something when its more challenging right? For instance, you want a raise at work so badly and in order to get it, you strive and give your all in achieving it and after that when u get it, you treasure it so much because of all the other things that you gain striving for it! What about Jannah? You want to strive to get in it because of Allah dont you? you want to see your creator! and what else could bring you more happiness than being with Him and with those who love Him?

The more challenging something is, the more you value it and its deserving to have it! Allah makes Jannah more worth it!

On the other hand, half of our daily life are spent with friends..right? be it in college or at workplace, you spend most hours with your friends and Friends are indeed blessings from Allah SWT. But then yet again what kinda friends are you with? are they those who loves you for the sake of Allah? are they those who guide and bring you to Jannah with them? and those who are married, ask this to yourself...is your spouse the one who reminds you of Allah during times of happiness and darkness? or do you do that to your spouse?

The ticket to Jannah is not only what is fard and halal is but its also companionship...those who are closer to you because they are those who actually you spend most of your time with.

Islam talks about types of friends that we encounter throughout our lives. Forgive me if my spelling is wrong...still poor in arabic :p...There are those who are :

1) Qarin - Somebody who are always with you
- As-Saffat : 51-57 - when you walk away from the remembrance of Allah

2) Khodul - when time gets tough, they wont be there with you
- friends who are only there to use you...like shaitaan
- Al-Furqaan : 28-29

3) Rofiqr - friends that you can count on.
- someone that gives you valuable good advice
- pick a friend higher practising than you are
- pick older friends that makes you more mature
- An-Nisa' : 69

4) Wali - Someone that protects you
- Allah SWT is our best wali! :D
- Al-Ma'idah : 65

5) Sidique - Truthful friends

6) Khaleem - extremely close friends
- love in your heart for them

7) Hamim - not so close with you but only by action

8) Walija - protects you, trust so much that they take part in your personal life
- they have to be a believer
- At-Tawbah : 16

9) Bittonah - secret keeping friend
- only wants something bad for you
- Ali-Imran : 118

*Nouman Ali Khan's lecture on the types of friend mentioned in the Quran*

AND not to forget before we do all this we gotta change ourselves first! remember Allah will never change our situation unless we change them within ourselves.

So again, ask yourself is your companion the right ones? and ask Allah to guide you to being a better person by giving you the right kind of friends :D

Let's make a whole loads of du'a for ourselves and the Ummah okayh! :D

7 Daily Spiritual Productive Habits to Develop

17:31

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

I was reading this article from Productive Muslim and i want to share with all of you as we have already stepped into a new year. Let us all try to practice something simple as this and be productive Muslims ….

You should aim to develop the following 7 Spiritually Productive activities into habits so that you can hopefully continue benefiting from them throughout your life. I consider these activities as the spiritual ‘bread and butter’ of any ProductiveMuslim. To develop them as habits is the essence of embarking on your journey towards the love of Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) and constantly increasing in your eman, inshaAllah:

1) Pray the Sunnah Prayers before and/or after Prayer: I know it’s easier to just pray the obligatory prayers and rush out of the mosque! However, when we realize the rewards we’re missing from not praying these Sunnah prayers we won’t leave them. Over the years I have learnt there’s only ONE way of getting yourself to pray these Sunnah prayers constantly: Get into the habit of praying them! They’ll soon become part and parcel of your Salah and your Salah will feel incomplete without performing these acts.

2) Remembrance of Allah after Salah: Again, it’s easy to rush out after Salah due to our busy lives, though if we are honest, how long does it take to recite the supplications after Salah? (The Answer: 5-7 minutes!). If you’re not sure what I’m referring to, you may find the supplications at MakeDua.com. Nowadays you’ll find pocket notebooks/or phone applications with these supplications. Get into the habit of reciting them daily after each Salah to enrich your Salah experience.

3) Morning/Evening Remembrance of Allah: Step 2 is also included in this habit. There exists a beautiful set of duas/remembrances from the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which he used to say before sunrise and after sunset. They are true stress relievers and energy boosters which never fail to make my days and evenings feel blessed. [You can find the duas at MakeDua.com]

4) Night Prayer: Hamdulillah, during Ramadan we have the wonderful Taraweeh prayers to attend. However, outside of Ramadan there are many opportunities to still obtain the reward of the night prayer. If you’re new to night prayer or you don’t pray it constantly during the year, make sure you try to attend prayers each and every night in congregation at the mosque (particularly brothers), and give yourself a ‘no-excuse’ policy. Develop a habit of praying Tahajjud and continuing to pray them for an entire 30 days; this will set you on better footing to continue with the Night Prayer for the rest of the year inshaAllah.

5) Duha Prayer: Here’s a Productive Muslim’s top secret to a productive day: 2 rak’ahs known as the Duha prayer which you may pray at anytime after sunrise till before the sun reaches it’s zenith (around 30 minutes before Dhuhr). The reward of this prayer is similar to giving charity on behalf of every bone in your body, and the energy and buzz you feel during the day is amazing.

6) Supplications before you Sleep: You’ve just had a long day and you’re super tired. You climb into bed and you want to hit the sack… but wait! Before you do, can you give yourself just 10 more minutes to recite the supplications before sleeping? That’s all. Try them and find yourself experiencing the most beautiful sleep ever and waking up for Fajr easily, inshaAllah.

7) Reciting one hour of Quran each day: Notice: I said here recite one hour of Quran each day and not one juz’ or one Surah. The amount of Quran you read is not as important as the quality of your understanding. If you spend one hour reciting one verse but understand it fully, that’s more important and beneficial then reciting lots of Quran at break-neck speed yet not understanding a word.
So there you go, 7 spiritually productive habits you can develop throughout the year starting from TODAY!

Hayaa of a Muslim

16:26

A woman’s best jewelry is her shyness”
— Sayyeda Fatima(sa) [Daughter of prophet Muhammad(sawas)] (via recognizingtheworld

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

The quote above is so true rite?! but what we Muslim women ought to follow like is the physical shyness. Physical shyness which practically means, what we see in the outside. yes she lowers her gaze but not by her action in front of a man, she rarely talks to men but when she do, she talks in a way that could melt a man. Shyness in Islam is not only about the physical aspect of a behavior in front of the others but also what is inside our heart and how do we act according to it.

To me, shyness of a man or women is to Allah S.W.T. It is the shame of being an ungrateful slave when we don’t follow what He has underlined to us, what is in the Quran and Sunnah. It is the feeling of shy towards Allah S.W.T that we have done something against what He underlined for us in the Holy Quran. I remember a sister that i knew not long ago, she said that whenever she is about to do something, whether it is good and especially when she knows it’s bad, she would ask herself if she had the answer before Allah S.W.T in the hereafter. That was really a good piece of advice heh! try it guys :D

And sisters, remember, shyness in front of Allah S.W.T makes you the best women in front of mankind.
Owh and it applies to you brothers too! :D

Ukhwah: I Love You For the Sake of Allah

16:04

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

" The believer is like a mirror to other believers (in truthfulness)." Like a mirror, your friend gives you an honest image. - Rasulullah s.a.w

Umar ibn al-Khattaab (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

“You should seek sincere brothers, for they are an adornment at times of ease and a support at times of calamity.”
I bet you would have already guessed what this post is about!

Ukhwah = Friendship

It is indeed a lovely feeling right, having another person who would care and do anything for you through the thick and thin times, happy times, going crazy times :p and even the time when you need to reach out to your Rabb. Always there by you :D

The ukhwah that i had was MashaAllah lovely! from the sisters i knew from my usrah and my fellow muslim sisters around me and even some of the brothers. They had helped me a lot along the process of being a better Muslim alhamdulillah :D and being steadfast in this deen! they were always there for me, guiding me without judging what kind of person i am and even my past (well they knew me even before being a Muslim)

Love them all so much and dearly because of Allah SWT :)

Walking in into my second year of being a Muslim, Alhamdulillah i really understood what ukhwah is :) and choosing a friend..i must say, im preety bad in choosing a friend because i am a friendly person and everything goes with me :)

Recently i came across a quote and it came with an incident in my life too! the quote goes like this:

"The example of a good companion and a bad companion is like that of the seller of musk, and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows.. So as for the seller of musk then either he will grant you some, or you buy some from him, or at least you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows then either he will burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him.”

Even my father told me once that our companion, be it friends or spouse reflect who we are! but does this mean you should not befriend anyone? Well in my opinion, friends are those who lead you into doing good stuffs, the right thing to do and not to lure you into things that you should not do are those you keep close!

So, in this case, we befriend everyone, but those who really brings us towards Allah SWT are those who we keep close. Also in this case, we should not look down upon those without a strong deen but help them too towards Allah SWT and make du'a for them. What if you are not strong enough to guide them?

i myself tried to help certain of my friends into the right path, bringing them back to the deen but unfortunately, i am not strong enough and i've decided to stay away and make du'a for them..alot and alot of du'a for them :D inshaAllah their hearts will open up :)

Love all of you because of Him :)

Weight of Words

11:50

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

" @WardinaSafiyyah: If u have a problem with people who are trying to improve themselves & get silly ideas, then go play far away with people who dont... #SHOO"

Recently i read few tweets from a famous Malaysian artist, Wardina Saffiyah (by the way, she's my most favourite! :D) regarding the deen of Islam and she was oppressed because of voicing it out based on what she learned.

Something i love about this wonderful lady was that she was a famous artist ones but then Allah bestowed her and she grabbed her hidayah and Alhamdulillah she is one of the influential women in Malaysia.

Things unfortunately wasn't easy for her. The society actually tore her up when she was sharing her experience and knowledge. People reminded her about her flaws, her past and whatever they could imagine to her and yet, MashaAllah Allah made her strong day by day! There is a saying that i remember from sister Yasmin Mogahed, Allah SWT elevates the believer to a higher status by the pain He inflict a man. SubahanAllah! Allah loves her sooo much! God is always kind and merciful right!

The reason i wanted to share this to all of you is that, as a humble servant of God, let us always be humble in what we do. Things will come in many ways to stop us but most importantly, when you do something for the sake of Him, He is always there to help. If you have found the light, go ahead and try your best in performing your deen. We all can make a change for our beloved ummah.

To sister Wardina, I've never met you in person but I've seen your videos and talks that you have given  and MashaAllah, i love your courage sister! You are one of the Muslims that strive to be better and helping us your fellow brothers and sisters to become better by your action itself! May Allah SWT always shower blessings upon you and make you stronger day by day. Do keep on doing what you do for the sake of Him.

The more happiness and love you spread around, the more happiness and love you will get in return.

Assalamualaikum to all,

I wonder why are we lacking in this :(

Why do we have to do segregation among human when Allah wants us to unite.

Our Prophet S.A.W is the perfect example of human kind when it comes to peace and spreading love without even looking at another human’s background.

I hear Muslim’s say and talk about da’wah but what they do is to speak out loud the greatness of Islam and not by their act. Islam doesn’t ask us to segregate our other brothers and sisters in fact by showing them love and treating them kindly, they will start to realize how wonderful Islam is. That is how i discovered Islam, learned about it and started to love it. All by the act of my wonderful friends around me.

So brothers and sisters, let us learn how to be patient and spread love as how our Prophet S.A.W has teach us. InshaAllah by Allah’s grace we will be strong.
