His Favours Upon Me ~ Alhamdulillah

Surah Ad-Dhuha

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum my dear family!

Preety sad Ramadhan is leaving right :(( and i didn’t even do much this year! huhuhuhuhu…not easy staying with the parents #ramblesofarevert but then Alhamdulillah been making use of every opportunity i get to do ibaadah! :D

This year Eid is going to be the same like last year except that i might spend half of the day with my parents :D Funnily, my dad is pretty excited celebrating Eid but not so cool about Islam…weird but that’s the truth! He is a man who is really hard to predict! :p plus i don’t know is i ever have a chance to celebrate with them next year if they know about my reversion :( it’s pretty different right celebrating with friends and celebrating with family…family usually is the best! :D so those of you who have that wonderful opportunity, spend it right yeah! :D

Aaannnddddd….ok now the climax of my story is coming in! heee…. *excited*

Last week i came across this amazing ayah in the Quran (above pic)…and it hit me hard! i was like mashaAllah, its talking to me!!!! i think during Ramadhan i was complaining a lot so He made me stumble upon this ayah…i mean who else do i complain to other than Him right! >.<

and i just looked up and said “sorry my Beloved, i’ve been complaining a lot but i wish i had the opportunity to make this right for my imaan and Deen” and guess what happened the next day……

i got a call from Mercy Mission Malaysia telling me that i got a job there under the creative department! MashaAllah! i was screaming in my heart!! Alhamdulillah i’m soooooo blessed! i’m about to work for my Deen using my passion! won’t you go crazy?! i did! :p and the best part is that i’ll be getting a place to stay at the Madinah Centre which is a new muslim and women shelter! Alhamdulillah! and a ride to work with a sister! SubahanAllah! its like Allah just secured me a place and He planned it beautifully! i can never ask for any other blessing than this!

But nowwwww…..i need to tell my parents about this…i know for sure they are not going to be tooo happy about it but…yah du’a…inshaAllah something good will come up! So my dear family, please make du’a for me so that Allah will ease this for me especially the part about telling my parents and not to forget du’a for the ummah too! i love all of you for the sake of Allah :D

Being a Mualaf

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

Assalamualaikum to all,

How is everyone doing? inshaAllah great by the blessings of Allah SWT. I recently read a post from one of my favourite writer and she is a revert too! I have attached the link for all of you to read it. unfortunately it is in Malay language and I think you can turn on the translation to English if your reading it in Google Chrome..

What she wrote is about the dilemma that almost all the revert are going through. It is different if you would compare to those in the west but in the east, the family unit is quite orthodox here and this are the main reason for those reverts to live in the shadow and not being upfront about their reversion. just briefly here....

"You may think why don't those reverts inform their parents..
Well that's because most of them are still studying in schools and colleges and still living under their parents because of the need of money for tuition fees and even for themselves.

So, when will they inform their family?...
Not sure..sooner or later cos their are still figuring out the means to inform their family. Some of them don't want to lose their parents because they will get furious. Some are waiting for the right time because their parents might be old and sick and shocking confessions like this might end up in worst case situation.

How will they live as a Muslim if their parents are not aware of it?
If you've already embrace Islam, things should be told. Illegal non-halal food, Obligatory prayers, fasting during Ramadan, The women's aurah

What is their status then?...
That is the problem. You are born as a Muslim, you do not discover their problems converting to Islam. Those who we call 'closet Muslim'  for not declaring it. They dare to revert to Islam after learning Islam and truly believe that Islam is the religion of truth, and they may have threats by their families to end college funding terminated / uni if their families know. There are more and more of them, but because there are not yet signed up as Muslims in the Islamic religious department, we have no data. Can not be detected unless they themselves tell."

In terms of performing salat, till today I had to sneak when I perform my prayers. sometimes I need to skip my prayers and when it comes to food, I need to take extra precaution when it comes to the food that is being prepared at home. It is not easy especially when your parents notice your changes and things that your abnormal instead of thinking positively about it.

What the Muslim community think is that, maybe some NGO should help these reverts but the truth is you are their brothers and sisters, you are their family, you all belong in the same ummah, so who is the one suppose to help them? don't burden them with what is halal and haram but instead educate them, encourage them and be there for them. Like one of the brother who commented below the post, a revert is like a baby. Do you burden the baby to start walking and eating and talking? no! you make them take small steps and encourage them. if you really cant reach out to them and help them, then make du'a for them so that Allah would ease things for them.

But instead things were happening the other way around. Muslims asking the reverts to make du'a for them because we are the new born baby and our du'a is more powerful. What is that? Since when does Allah differ in hearing to du'as?

These reverts has declared themselves as a Muslim. They have strengthen their aqeedah and what left is just the practise that their trying to learn and get use to

Be a support system to each other

"O you who have believed, if you support Allah , He will support you and plant firmly your feet." (Muhammad 47:7)
